Far, Far Away on Judea’s Plains

SATB with piano

(audio from Jackman Music)

Commissioned in 2006 by the Women’s Glee Club at the University of Northern Colorado, Far Far Away on Judea’s Plains is now available for purchase from Jackman Music Corporation.

This Christmas selection is an exciting addition to the repertoire of any church or school choir.  The classic lyrics by John Menzies Macfarlane have been set to an exciting new tune in mixed meter.  A supportive piano part makes the flowing lines and chromatic harmony approachable for most SATB choirs.

If you have enjoyed the free offerings from NathanHoweMusic.com, please consider purchasing Far Far Away on Judea’s Plains for your choir.  It is a great addition to your choral library that will stand the test of time.  Order it directly from Jackman Music or through any major choral music retailer, like J. W. Pepper.

Come to the Mountain of the Lord

SATB, a cappella or with piano or organ

This hymn was written by Nathan Howe in the week from August 15 to August 22, 2006. Designed to encourage appreciation of the Temple, it was composed in response to a challenge from David Macfarlane.

The PDF melody with guitar chords was created in response to a request from a site visitor (see the comments below).  The chords are not the same as the SATB version, so the guitar part is not compatible with the choral version of this hymn.
