Resurrection Hymn [SSA]

Three-part Women’s Voices with piano

Nathan Howe’s award-winning vocal solo Resurrection Hymn has now been arranged for three-part women’s voices.

This piece was written for use in a sacrament meeting on Easter of 2010. The song was subsequently revised and performed for “Reflections on Christ,” a Good Friday cultural event sponsored by the Loveland, Colorado Stake in 2011. It is a musical testimony that through the Atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we will all one day be resurrected and stand before God in the flesh. Also, the song affirms that because of the sacrifice of Christ, we may be comforted and healed through the power of the Holy Ghost.

This page contains the SSA Women’s Choir arrangement (files below). Here is a complete list of available arrangements for this piece:

  1. Our pianist backed out on us last minute today as we were preparing to sing this beautiful song, and so my trio decided to sing it the Resurrection Hymn anyway, a cappella. It was amazingly beautiful, even without the piano. The harmonies are so beautiful, and the unison parts added so much emphasis. Thank you for composing such beautiful music, and arranging it so masterfully! Thank you also for sharing it with us!

    1. I’m so glad that you found the piece useful, with or without accompaniment. I would love to hear a trio do this piece a cappella. I hope you had a peaceful Easter. If there is any particular musical need I can help with in the future, please let me know.
