Exciting News Now, New Music This Week

It has been a while since I gave an update, so this is a big one.  It all centers on Come and Behold Him, A Christmas Cantata.

First, several musicians from distant places contacted me again this year to tell me about their performances of the cantata.  Thank you for singing and playing this music.  I am humbled to think of the hours you spent preparing and performing it.

One of the major choral pieces in the cantata, Within the Humblest Walls, was selected for publication in the inaugural issue of Hymns Today, an exciting new quarterly magazine which offers copyable choral music from modern LDS composers.  Every ward or stake choir director needs a subscription.  The next issue will feature Easter music.

Finally, Come and Behold Him has been selected to receive the Deseret Dramatic Award.  Excerpts will be performed at the Church Cultural Arts Festival at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Assembly Hall on Temple Square.  If you will be in the Salt Lake area, admission is free and everybody is welcome.  Please send me a message if you plan to come, so I’ll be sure to catch you.

Thanks for all of your support.  New music will be posted within the next few days.

Best,
Nathan Howe
